What type of auction services do you offer?

We offer silent auction tablets, brochures, online auctions or a hybrid solution. But most importantly, we aim to tailor a package that meets the needs and requirements of your event. Do I have to use A Star Experience auction items or can I use my own?

You absolutely can use your own. You’re also more than welcome to use A Star Experience items too. Any of your own items that have been donated by a generous supporter can be included within the auction. Your items will be placed at the forefront of the auction lot list for prime viewing. All the funds raised on any auction items that have been donated to you or you have sourced will go to you. A Star Experience does not take any margin or commission on any of these items.

What is the cost to run a silent auction?

We are fully aware that with any event (especially charity events), it’s really important to keep costs down and save where you can. This is why we try our best to keep any costs at a minimum for you.

Any costs are done on a ‘sliding scale’ depending on how many A Star Experiences items you want to include in the auction. If you were to include a number of A Star items in your auction, then we will try our very best to provide our auction service free for you. What is included in the silent auction brochure service?

We will always try and tailor the perfect solution for you, but the auction brochure service normally is provided for free, with the inclusion of some luxury A Star Experience items within the auction lot.

The brochures will always be branded to your event/charity’s guidelines. Our design team will produce a brochure that you will sign off and, once happy, we will print the brochure for you as well.

We will also supply staff to be in attendance on the day to engage with your guests, answer any questions and promote the auction. Post-event, we will take care of all the payment collection for you, and our aim will be to get you paid as quickly as possible after the event. You will receive a dedicated Event Liaison Manager, who will be on hand to build your auction for you and answer any questions you may have. The platform will be branded to the event/charity guidelines.

At the event we will supply staff to be in attendance on the day to engage with your guests, answer any questions and promote the auction. A minimum of two tablets will be placed on each table. Post-event, we will take care of all the payment collection for you, and our aim will be to get you paid as quickly as possible after the event. What is included in the online silent auction service?

With the tablet service, you will have a choice of the market-leading tech platforms within the industry. You will receive a dedicated Event Liaison Manager, who will be on hand to build your auction for you and answer any questions you may have. The platform will be branded to the event/charity guidelines. Your online auction can run for as long as you like. Typically, most clients run their online auctions for anywhere between 1 – 4 weeks but are not limited to this timescale. Do you only do auctions for charity events?

Not at all. Any event can be used for a silent auction. We often attend awards dinners, Premier League football matches and golf days as an example, in addition to all the charity events. Please get in touch with a member of the team who can tell you more about what we can offer.

Is my event too small to have a silent auction?

Absolutely not. We try our best to tailor our auctions to meet your needs, requirements and budgets. Please reach out to one of the team who would love to hear about your event and offer you a proposal on what we could do for you.

Do you run auctions in my location?

Absolutely. In recent weeks we have done events all over the UK, in Spain, Portugal and Dubai. So please do let us know if you would like us to run an auction for you, wherever you may be.

How do the costs work on A Star Experience items?

A Star Experience items are secured at a discounted rate from what it would cost to go direct and is typically anything from 20%-60% off the RRP. This is what we call the ‘Cost Price’. On each A Star item is a small margin, which then creates the ‘Supply Price’ (i.e. the price that we supply the package to the event/charity). We also build a margin into the reserve price for the charity to create a ‘Minimum Bid Price’.

During the pre-event liaison process, we will discuss with you how much you would like to be built into the ‘Minimum Bid Price’ and offer any advice if required. The good thing about this is that you as a charity will be making money from the very first bid that comes in. In addition to this, the charity will also receive 100% of the surplus above the ‘Minimum Bid Price’. For example, and to discuss this further, please get in touch with a member of the team today.

Do you offer any additional services/special requests?

Absolutely we do. Yes, we are an auction company, but our aim is to help make your event the best it possibly can be. If you need anything from support with your live auction and raffle, to ticket sales and guest registration, please do ask us. It’s our ambition to make your event as successful as it can be, and if we can help in any way, we would love to.

Do you collect payments for the winners of auction items?

Yes, absolutely. We do this in a number of different ways, and we pride ourselves on our payment collection service.

What is the aftercare service like for winners of A Star Experience auction items?

As soon as we have collected the payment from a silent auction winner, an e-voucher will be sent to their email address provided, with details on how to get booked in. All experiences are available for a minimum of 12 months from the date of purchase. When a guest is ready to redeem their e-voucher, all they need to do is click the ‘Redeem’ button on their voucher, and answer three simple questions (for example, what dates would you like to get booked in?).

This will then come straight through to our internal bookings team, who will assist them in booking their experience. So, we will effectively be looking after your guests up to 12 months after your event has even finished. On any memorabilia items, these will be delivered to the winner’s address provided in 10 – 14 working days from point of payment.

Are A Star Experience GDPR compliant?

Yes, A Star Experience is fully GDPR compliant. We take data and security very seriously.

Are there any hidden/additional fees?

No. Everything with A Star Experience is 100% transparent. Our card processing fees are 2.5% lower than most on the market. On each A Star Experience item there is a cost price where all of the funds above the supply price goes directly to the charity.
