Hilton Food Group Golf Day

We’ve been working with Hilton Food Group (HFG) for a number of years now. HFG hold a Golf Day every summer to entertain their suppliers including high-profile supermarkets. Hosted at The Grove, one hundred people took part in the golf day and additional two hundred attended in the evening for the gala dinner. A great evening of entertainment is always had, but the focus is to always raise as much money as possible for three fantastic charities: Cure Parkinson’s, EACH and Variety Children’s Charity.

Comprehensive Silent Auction Solutions

We support Hilton Food Group by running the Silent Auction for them, and we always offer them a donation of a luxury experience for their Live Auction too. There are several different auction solutions available for Golf Days, and we will always advise what we think is right for yours, but for HFG we use Silent Auction Tablets with two on every table for guest to engage with and place their bids.

The organisers from Hilton Food Group did an amazing job of sourcing their own auction items and managed to get over forty from their various contacts, ranging from off-road driving experiences and fourballs at the local gold clubs, to hospitality at Premier League matches and 2-night stays in some of London’s best hotels. In addition, Hilton food Group also included forty of A Star’s auction items in their auction lot list. This created a strong lot list of over eighty auction items, which were all greatly received by the guests in attendance and lots of bids were placed throughout the evening.

Event Management & Support From A Star Experience

We had an Event Manager, Tech Manager and Support Staff all in attendance to support any guests that had any questions, and to encourage guests to bid and maximise the funds raised on the evening. The team also helped support the Live Auction as spotters and collecting the winning bidders’ details.

For payment collection, we used a new functionality called ‘Pre-Authorisation’ (which is completely optional and was at the request of Hilton Food Group). This is where guests can insert their card details into the system (100% safely and securely) when signing up to make a bid. Therefore, when the auction closed at the end of the night, we can charge all the winning bidders there and then and send them any e-vouchers for packages they have been successful on. This made for a quick and clean payment collection, and the charities were paid the next working day for the total amount raised, which was an amazing sum of just over £30,000.

 

A great golf day into a gala dinner, and we look forward to supporting Hilton Food Group in the years to come. The success of these events not only showcases the generosity of the participants but also underscores the importance of community and collaboration in achieving remarkable fundraising results.

What type of auction services do you offer?

We offer silent auction tablets, brochures, online auctions or a hybrid solution. But most importantly, we aim to tailor a package that meets the needs and requirements of your event. We would recommend getting in touch with one of the team today to tell us a little bit of information about what you are looking for from a fundraising partner. Our team will put together a free proposal for you on what we can offer.

Do I have to use A Star Experience auction items or can I use my own?

You absolutely can use your own. You’re also more than welcome to use A Star Experience items too. Any of your own items that have been donated by a generous supporter can be included within the auction. Your items will be placed at the forefront of the auction lot list for prime viewing. All the funds raised on any auction items that have been donated to you or you have sourced will go to you. A Star Experience does not take any margin or commission on any of these items. 

What is the cost to run a silent auction?

We are fully aware that with any event (especially charity events), it’s really important to keep costs down and save where you can. This is why we try our best to keep any costs at a minimum for you. 

Any costs are done on a ‘sliding scale’ depending on how many A Star Experiences items you want to include in the auction. If you were to include a number of A Star items in your auction, then we will try our very best to provide our auction service free for you. What is included in the silent auction brochure service?

We will always try and tailor the perfect solution for you, but the auction brochure service normally is provided for free, with the inclusion of some luxury A Star Experience items within the auction lot. 

The brochures will always be branded to your event/charity’s guidelines. Our design team will produce a brochure that you will sign off and, once happy, we will print the brochure for you as well. 

We will also supply staff to be in attendance on the day to engage with your guests, answer any questions and promote the auction. Post-event, we will take care of all the payment collection for you, and our aim will be to get you paid as quickly as possible after the event. For much more detail on what is included within this service, please do reach out to one of the team today. 

What is included in the silent auction tablet service?

We will always try and tailor the perfect solution for you. With the tablet service, you will have a choice of the market-leading tech platforms within the industry. You will receive a dedicated Event Liaison Manager, who will be on hand to build your auction for you and answer any questions you may have. The platform will be branded to the event/charity guidelines. 

 

At the event we will supply staff to be in attendance on the day to engage with your guests, answer any questions and promote the auction. A minimum of two tablets will be placed on each table. Post-event, we will take care of all the payment collection for you, and our aim will be to get you paid as quickly as possible after the event. For more detail on what is included within this service, please do reach out to one of the team today.

What is included in the online silent auction service?

With the tablet service, you will have a choice of the market-leading tech platforms within the industry. You will receive a dedicated Event Liaison Manager, who will be on hand to build your auction for you and answer any questions you may have. The platform will be branded to the event/charity guidelines. Your online auction can run for as long as you like. Do you only do auctions for charity events?
